Chaos Lab
As the UX/UI Designer and General Designer for Chaos Lab, I was responsible for crafting an intuitive and engaging user experience that balanced the game's fast-paced, chaotic mechanics with a seamless and enjoyable interface. I designed user-friendly menus, HUD elements, and in-game prompts to guide players through the time-sensitive gameplay, ensuring clarity even in high-pressure situations. In addition to UX/UI design, I contributed to the overall visual design of the game, collaborating closely with the art and development teams to create a cohesive, cartoonish art style that complemented the game's lighthearted tone. My work focused on enhancing both the aesthetic appeal and functional clarity of Chaos Lab, delivering an accessible yet challenging experience for players of all skill levels.
Chaos Lab is a fun and fast-paced arcade game where players take on the role of a pharmacist-scientist working in a chaotic laboratory. Released for PC and built on the Unity engine, the game combines time management and dexterity as you create syrups, tablets, and ointments to fulfill a growing number of customer orders. The premise of the game begins with a mishap involving a space-time machine that teleports the player’s entire lab into chaos. With the machine broken and repairs too costly, the protagonist opens a pharmacy to make ends meet. To their (un)fortunate surprise, the pharmacy quickly becomes a hit, bringing in waves of customers. The challenge lies in the fact that there’s only one pharmacist to handle all the orders!
Players must race against the clock to complete as many orders as possible in each round. Each level lasts between 3 to 5 minutes, and in order to progress, players need to meet a minimum quota. For those aiming for perfection, the game offers the opportunity to earn three stars by completing all orders flawlessly and within the time limit—a feat that requires no mistakes and maximum efficiency. While Chaos Lab is approachable for beginners, mastering the balance between speed and precision will test even the most skilled players. The game’s casual, cartoonish art style creates a lighthearted atmosphere, making it an enjoyable experience for players of all skill levels. Success in the game demands quick thinking, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask, preparing multiple medications at once without errors or wasting time.
